Your body is not broken. It moves in cycles. Always changing. Always growing. Always returning. And there is so much beauty in that.
For most of us, we were never really taught about our cycles.
We learned that periods were something to get through - but what if we could approach them differently?
What if instead of pushing through each phase, we could learn to flow with it - giving our body what it actually needs, when it needs it?
That's the question that started Tala. And it's the question that sits at the heart of our Cycle Teas.
The Body's Inner Seasons
Just as the earth moves through four seasons, so do our bodies. Each one has its own energy, its own needs and its own wisdom.
- Menstruation is our inner winter - a time to rest and turn inward.
- Follicular is our inner spring - energy beginning to rise and emerge.
- Ovulation is our inner summer - radiant, expansive and full of life.
- Luteal is our inner autumn - softening, turning inward and preparing to return.
Learning to recognise which season you're in, and to honour what your body is asking for, is one of the most quietly powerful things you can do for yourself.
Plants have been supporting the menstruating body for centuries. Tala was created to bring that ancient wisdom into the modern everyday - one cup at a time.
Phase One: Menstruation, Inner Winter, Days 1-5
Menstruation is the body's inner winter. An invitation to slow down, turn inward and rest. This phase asks you to shed what no longer serves and honour stillness. It is not a time to push. It is a time to be held. And yet so many of us push through - showing up as if nothing is happening. But something is happening. Something profound.
The body is releasing, renewing, beginning again.
Our Menstruation blend was crafted for this season. Every herb chosen with intention:
- Raspberry leaf - known as the women's herb, traditionally used to tone the uterus and support healthy blood flow.
- Nettle - deeply mineral-rich, replenishing the iron and magnesium lost during bleeding.
- Ashwagandha - a cornerstone Ayurvedic adaptogen, supporting the nervous system through the natural energy dip of menstruation.
- Ginger - warming and anti-inflammatory, traditionally used to ease cramping and support circulation.
- Turmeric - a powerful anti-inflammatory, supporting the body through this time of release.
- Chamomile - gentle and calming, softening the whole cup with a floral finish.
Brew a cup. Find a warm corner. Let yourself rest.

Phase Two: Follicular, Inner Spring, Days 6-13
Follicular is the body's inner spring. The feeling of waking up slowly after a long sleep. Something stirring. Energy returning not with a crash, but with a gentle, curious lift. This is a time of new beginnings and quiet potential. The heaviness lifts. Ideas flow more easily. There is a sense of possibility returning.
Our Follicular blend was crafted to support this rising energy. Every herb chosen with intention:
- Tulsi - known in Ayurveda as the sacred herb, bringing a warm clove-like sweetness and adaptogenic depth, supporting the body as energy begins to rise.
- Nettle - continuing to nourish and rebuild after menstruation, deeply mineral-rich.
- Shatavari - the queen of Ayurvedic women's herbs, supporting healthy oestrogen levels as they naturally rise during this phase.
- Spearmint - mildly anti-androgenic, supporting hormonal balance and lifting the flavour of the blend.
- Lemon balm - gently uplifting and citrusy, supporting mood and mental clarity as energy returns.
- Dandelion root - a gentle liver tonic, supporting the clearance of excess oestrogen as it begins to rise.
Drink this one as you begin to emerge. As something in you starts to stir.

Phase Three: Ovulation, Inner Summer, Days 14-16
Ovulation is the body's inner summer. Your most magnetic, radiant and expansive phase. Oestrogen peaks, energy soars and you step into your fullest expression. Like a full moon, ovulation asks you to be seen - to gather, to create, to bloom. This phase is brief - just a few days - but it carries an enormous amount of energy and vitality. It is worth celebrating.
Our Ovulation blend was crafted to honour this peak. Every herb chosen with intention:
- Rose petals - cooling and anti-inflammatory, deeply Ayurvedic, celebrating the body at its most radiant.
- Hibiscus - antioxidant-rich and vibrant, giving the blend its gorgeous deep ruby colour and bright, floral tartness.
- Shatavari - the queen of Ayurvedic women's herbs, nourishing the reproductive system at its most vital moment.
- Cardamom - a classic Ayurvedic spice, warming and aromatic, lifting the whole cup with depth and sweetness.
- Brahmi - supporting mental clarity and focus at the most outward and expressive phase of the cycle.
- Saffron - used in Ayurveda for centuries to support radiance, mood and vitality. A whisper of something sacred.
Pour it into your favourite cup. Celebrate exactly where you are. You are in full bloom.

Phase Four: Luteal, Inner Autumn, Days 17-28
Luteal is the body's inner autumn. A turning inward, a slowing down. The outward energy of summer begins to soften and withdraw. Feelings rise to the surface. The body calls for warmth, nourishment and care. This is the phase that is most often feared - the PMS phase, the emotional phase, the difficult phase. But there is so much wisdom here, if we're willing to listen. The luteal phase is where our intuition sharpens, where we become more discerning, where we see clearly what is and isn't working in our lives. This is not a weakness. It is wisdom.
Our Luteal blend was crafted to support this tender season. Every herb chosen with intention:
- Ashwagandha - the anchor of this blend. Deeply grounding, supporting the adrenal glands and helping the body manage stress and emotional intensity during this phase.
- Shatavari - the queen of Ayurvedic women's herbs, supporting progesterone balance as the body transitions toward menstruation.
- Passionflower - a gentle and effective nervine, traditionally used to ease anxiety, racing thoughts and the restlessness of late luteal.
- Licorice root - naturally sweet and soothing, supporting adrenal health and bringing a comforting warmth to the whole cup.
- Brahmi - calming mental chatter and brain fog, quieting the overactive mind that so often accompanies PMS.
- Lemon balm - gently uplifting and citrusy, easing irritability and bringing brightness to this inward season.
- Fennel seed - warming and naturally sweet, soothing bloating and digestive discomfort that can arise in the luteal phase.
This is the blend we reach for when the world feels like too much. A warm golden hug in a cup.

How to Use the Cycle Collection
The Cycle Collection is designed to be used intuitively. You don't need to track your cycle perfectly to begin - just start where you are.
If you're bleeding, reach for the Menstruation blend. If your energy is beginning to rise, try Follicular. If you're feeling radiant and expansive, Ovulation. If you're turning inward and craving warmth, Luteal.
Over time, as you become more attuned to your body and its rhythms, you'll naturally begin to feel which blend calls to you. That's the whole point - not a rigid protocol, but a gentle invitation to pay attention.
To brew: 1 heaped teaspoon, steeped for 5 minutes in boiling water. All blends are caffeine free and can be enjoyed any time of day.
A Note From Tala
We are still learning too. Tala was not created from a place of having all the answers - it was created from a deep curiosity about our bodies, our cycles and how the plants around us can support us along the way. These blends are an invitation - not a prescription. Your cycle is your own. Trust it.
Come back to your rhythm. One cup at a time.
